BEDSIDE CHARM

I know it's only January, and Spring is not yet on the horizon, but I am really longing for days of sunshine and warmer weather. How about you? I love to spruce up and change up little areas in my home as the seasons change. Bedside tables and night stands are an easy place to start. Today I'm sharing some inspiration for our bedrooms in case your night stands could use a refresh too.

I say we start with blue and white... :-)

I love this next idea. This is the IKEA Kallax shelf unit. We have two of these in black in our youngest son's bedroom for his night stands. This one is styled perfectly. Wouldn't you say?

More traditionally styled bedside tables are always going to be a favorite for me.

Okay, that's it for the bedside inspiration round up! Hopefully you saw something you liked and some hints for your own home.

I liked so many of the ideas. The white campaign chest with the gold bamboo mirror and white lamp was definitely a favorite. It was a clean and crisp look, and to me it says "spring." I'd love to hear in the comments below the post if you had a favorite.

KEEPING UP WITH THE GOOD THINGS

I hope your year is off to a great start!

I saw the idea I'm sharing today online just a few weeks ago and thought it was terrific. I'm doing it myself this year, and I thought you all might want to do it, too. It's super easy and won't take up much time.

FRIDAY'S FIVE

Happy Friday!

As you are reading this post, I am hanging out with fifty (Yes. I said 50!) high school students in New Orleans. I am a chaperone with my son's AP Language class. Feel free to have a moment of silence for the six adults on the trip...  :-)

Here are five things you'll want to check out this week.

#1 - Are you familiar with the One Room Challenge? It's one of my favorite events in the blogger world. Twenty bloggers are challenged to transform a space in just six weeks. This is probably my favorite room from the fall 2017 event. It's a beautiful little girl's room done by Gwen Hefner of the blog The Makerista.

PICK A NEW PLANNER FOR THE NEW YEAR

Just in case you're still shopping for a 2018 planner, I took a look to see what Amazon has to offer. As you can imagine, there are tons of choices. I found twenty that I thought were super cute and would be perfect for staying organized and remembering important dates. Some are 8" x 11" and some are the smaller 6" x 8" size. Some are twelve-month planners and a few are fourteen to seventeen-month planners.

Last year my planner was from Blue Sky. I picked it up from Target. I've chosen a few of theirs, and a few other vendors as well, including Bloom Daily Planners and Erin Condren. All the links with the info for each book are below the image.

THE YEAR IN REVIEW: A LOOK BACK AT 2017

Welcome to the New Year! I hope the holidays were good to you and you're looking forward to 2018 with hope and anticipation. May it be your best year yet!

Before I jump into January 2018, I wanted to pause and be thankful for all the good things this past year, so I took a scroll through my phone. Here are some highlights of 2017.

One of my favorite updates around here was the master bedroom. I took out most of the color and opted for a more neutral look. I never got around to showing it to you last year. Maybe this year it will make the cut.
