LIFE AROUND THE LANE: OCTOBER 2021

October was a pretty good, but quick month for us. The temperature cooled off and the sun was out. So hard to believe it's November already. In today's edition of "Life Around the Lane", I'm sharing what I've been up to and a few things I've come across that you might like as well. 

LIFE AROUND THE LANE

This new book by decorator Lauren Liess is out, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I hit the "Buy Now" button on Amazon just before working on this post. It's called Feels Like Home. I loved her first book Habitat, and refer to it often for decorating inspiration. I hope to get the second one, too. Yes, I've bought them out of order, but I'm okay with that. 

It's time to replace sheets on a couple of the beds in our house. These sheets have been wonderful, and I'm definitely going to be ordering them for second time. They come in over 40 colors. 

Are your dish rags worn out? Yeah, mine too. I ordered these; they are great. Lots of colors and styles. 

These are my favorite new accessories. My friend Frances ordered and loved them, so I copied her. We both ordered two sets for a fuller and more dramatic look. 

I read this book and absolutely loved it. (More on that in a later post.)

My husband and I finally finished this series and really enjoyed it. It's older, but if you need something to watch that will keep you busy for a while, it was worth it. 

I'm tired of looking over the top of my readers, so I've given these progressive readers a try. I'll let you know how they work out. If nothing else, they are really cute.

Speaking of glasses, I tried to order some large-frame sunglasses, and this is what happened. I look like a bee, but I don't care. I LOVE THEM! They may look ridiculous, but not one bit of sun gets in my eyes. Highly recommend if you are going for big and just don't care how you look. :-)

On the personal side around the lane, we celebrated my father-in-law's birthday with the entire gang, tried a new restaurant, got to keep our grandpuppies, had a ladies' night with friends I haven't seen in a loooong time, and this weekend, we made it to a Buc-ee's. Oh, my, word! It was a site.
