A Sunday thought on Thursday...

This season does really exist for a reason...

There is a reason the kids are out of school, the government goes home, and our pants feel a bit tight...

A reason our houses and our towns turn red and green...

A reason for moving the furniture around to make room for the tree and for shedding a tear when we hang those hand-made ornaments from preschool...

Luke 2:7-11 (NIV)

7 ...and she gave birth to her first-born, a son.
She wrapped him in cloths and
 placed him in a manger,
because there was no room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living
out in the fields nearby,
keeping watch over their flocks at night.

9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
 and they were terrified.

10 But the angel said to them,
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will
cause great joy for all the people.

11 Today in the town of
 David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.

May the tidings of great Joy fill your lives this week...

Kathryn
