KEEPING UP WITH THE GOOD THINGS

I hope your year is off to a great start!

I saw the idea I'm sharing today online just a few weeks ago and thought it was terrific. I'm doing it myself this year, and I thought you all might want to do it, too. It's super easy and won't take up much time.

You'll need a Mason jar. I have a few sitting around because I'm lucky enough to get fresh vegetables each year from my in-laws. :-)

Then you'll need some paper. Any paper you have around your house will work. I picked up this note pad at the grocery store because I liked the bright colors, and they'll look good in the jar.

Round up your favorite pens and keep them handy.

Cut the paper into strips, and keep them next to your jar.

Put the top on your jar and you're ready! Once a week, or more if you'd like, jot down on your slip of paper one thing you're thankful or grateful for, or something good that has happened to you. You might just record something you don't want to forget or something you would like to reflect on at the end of the year.

Drop the thought into your jar.

Then, at the end of the year, maybe New Year's Eve, take a look at all you wrote down. Think how fun it will be to revisit the good things in your life at the end of the year...

  3. This would be a great activity to do with the kids. Thanksgiving could be a nice time to open the jar together. It is a good reminder to all of us to be grateful!
