A SUNDAY THOUGHT...FEELING ANXIOUS

Feeling anxious these days? Me, too. It only takes about three minutes of face time with the television or social media to send my stomach into a tail spin. I immediately worry about my kids and their kids and their kids. The chaos we can see causes me to fret, and it's taking up more and more of my brain power, and more and more of my time. It's making it hard to dwell on what I cannot see--the eternal things.

**SIDE NOTE**

(I started that brief intro a few days back, not too long after the shooting in Dallas. And then, something horrific happened, again--a truck was driven down a street in France... I'm sure you know the rest.)

Sharing some verses for these anxious times that will hopefully help, maybe in just a tiny way...

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:6-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

Maybe one day we'll all live harmoniously united, refined by love, and practicing peace...

  3. Very well said kathryn. The verses from Philippians and Proverbs are two of my favorite.
